The main event at UFC 152 features light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones defending his title in a bout against Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort. Jones turned down a chance to defend against Chael Sonnen at UFC 151, then Mauricio Ruo and Lyoto Machida turned down the chance to face Jones at UFC 152. Beflort is a former UFC light heavyweight champion, having won thte title at UFC 46 against Randy Couture.

Jones was originally scheduled to fight at UFC 151, but that fight -- and the entire event -- was canceled after an injury to Dan Henderson forced him to pull out. UFC moved Jones to the UFC 152 card, and after originally announcing the event would be re-numbered, said the card would retain the "UFC 152" title, with UFC 151 not existing.
