UFC 156 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event scheduled at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The event will be headlined by a featherweight championship bout between champion Jose Aldo and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.
Aldo is making his fourth defense of the UFC featherweight championship, and his sixth title defense dating to his WEC days. He enters the fight having won 14 bouts in a row since his only career loss to Luciano Azevedo in 2005. Edgar is making his featherweight debut after losing two consecutive lightweight title fights.
